Human Resources and Training Advisor
PERMANENT FULL TIME
Salary range: $66,105 – $68,659.50

We are currently seeking a Human Resources and Training Advisor to join our Human Resources team. This role is ideal for an HR professional who is passionate about employee development, training, and supporting a wide range of HR functions in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develops, organizes, and implements training programs and orientation sessions.
- Supports instructors and internal subject matter experts in designing and delivering training.
- Schedules training sessions, prepares materials, books training spaces, and sets up equipment.
- Communicates training opportunities to employees and acts as a resource for staff development.
- Maintains accurate training records, certificates, and mandatory training documentation.
- Collaborates with internal teams and community partners to develop and share training resources.
- Supports all stages of the recruitment process including advertising, screening, shortlisting, interviewing, and can lead these functions independently
- Utilizes HRIS, and related systems.
- Assists with investigations, grievances, conflict resolution, and labour relations as assigned.
- Participates in collective bargaining preparation and related HR activities.
- Prepares correspondence, reports, and documentation as required.
Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in staff training and development, as well as general HR practices.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective training methods.
- Understanding of HR legislation and collective agreements.
- CHRP designation or working toward it is considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work professionally with employees, individuals supported, and the public.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems.
- Standard First Aid with CPR (or willingness to obtain).
Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources and Training Advisor plays a key role in developing, implementing, and coordinating staff training and development initiatives. This position also supports recruitment and selection processes, assists with HR administration, and serves as a resource to employees throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working with multiple software programs and maintaining accurate HR and training records.
