
COMMUNITY RESOURCE CONSULTANT
1 – FULL TIME POSITION
Salary: $34.82 – $36.27 per hour
(commensurate with qualifications and experience)

Through personalized OPTIONS, we collaborate with people and community partners to develop and offer creative personal and clinical services for individuals.
Position will require:
- degree/diploma in the Social Services field
- proven work experience (preferably in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting), knowledge and training in supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnosis, including individuals who experience challenging behaviours
- experience conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, behavioural support plans, functional assessments, and intervention programs/plans, providing one-to-one counselling and facilitating groups
- attention to detail and ability to support persons, families and staffing teams through crisis or other high stress situations will be evident as demonstrated through your previous experience using positive approaches
- flexibility to meet service demands (work within hospital forensics unit, office, and community settings)
- experience responding to and managing a demanding workload
- effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills for working extensively with people who communicate using both traditional and non-traditional methods
- an understanding of legislation such as the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, 2008 and Regulation 299/10 and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 is required
- current certification in First Aid with CPR and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification
- computer skills and a working knowledge of MS Office
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services on the Community Resource Team, the Community Resource Consultant shall provide person centered clinical services to individuals, both children and adults with a developmental disability or dual diagnosis, as well as specialized support to the families, caregivers and agencies. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Community Resource Consultant shall be responsible to act as a positive role model, collaborating with others both inside and outside of the organization and using knowledge, training and experience to conduct assessments, develop programming, provide counselling and facilitate groups. A creative ability to think outside the box in order to meet clinical service demands and work with a diverse group of people is a necessity.
